“ Role of Physical Education and Sports Sciences in Sustainable Development of the society”
In a two-day seminar organized by the Department of Physical Education at SVSU Meerut, the pivotal role of Physical Education and Sports Sciences in the sustainable development of society took center stage. The event, graced by esteemed guests, aimed to shed light on the multifaceted contributions of these disciplines to social well-being.
Special guests included Prof. Dr. Shyla Raj, CEO of SVSU, Meerut and Major General G.K. Thapliyal, Vice Chancellor of SVSU Meerut. Guest of Honor was Dr. Awadesh Kumar Singh , Assistant Professor and Head of Physical Education from DN PG College, Gulaothi and Dr. Barkha Bhardwaj, , Assistant Professor SRDA Girls PG College, Hathras, UP,. The chief guest, Shri S.S. Deshwal, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Sports University of Haryana, Rai, Sonipat. added further prestige to the occasion.
The inaugural ceremony, marked by warmth and enthusiasm, included a cultural program presented by talented students. Throughout the seminar, faculties from Education and Physical Education remained engaged, with over 100 students and delegates from various universities across states actively participating.
The highlight of the seminar was the presence and motivational address by Dr. Mahendra N Sawant, a distinguished speaker in the field of Physical Education. His insights inspired students to recognize the importance of their role in fostering sustainable development through sports and physical activities.
Prof. Dr. Sandeep Kumar, the Dean of the Faculty of Education, expressed gratitude to all attendees, including university members and non-teaching staff, for contributing to the success of the well-organized event. The seminar provided a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, fostering a deeper understanding of how Physical Education and Sports Sciences can actively contribute to the sustainable development of society.
