Seminar on “Applied Biomechanics in Youth Sports Development” Held at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University by Department of Physical Education

Meerut, April 22, 2025 The Department of Physical Education at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University organized a one-day seminar on “Applied Biomechanics in Youth Sports Development” under the esteemed convener ship of Professor Dr. Manju Adhikari. The event was held at the Seminar Hall of the Faculty of Education and served as a dynamic platform for undergraduate students to present their research-driven insights into the field of sports biomechanics. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Professor Sandeep Kumar Dean, Faculty of Education, whose inspirational guidance and continuous support greatly enriched the seminar and motivated the participants the seminar focused on the pivotal role biomechanics plays in enhancing athletic performance, injury prevention, and fostering the long-term development of youth athletes. It aimed to cultivate research interest, analytical thinking, and the application of scientific methods in sports training. Students showcased engaging presentations on topics including sprinting techniques, throwing mechanics, wearable sensors in sports, postural assessments, and injury prevention strategies. The interactive sessions promoted active participation, cross-disciplinary discussions, and knowledge-sharing among peers and faculty alike.

Outcomes of the Seminar:

  • Improved awareness among students about the scientific principles of human movement in sports.
  • Development of research and presentation skills in undergraduate participants.
  • Encouragement of interdisciplinary approaches, particularly integrating technology and sports science.
  • Emphasis on the importance of early biomechanical assessment in youth for sustained athletic development.

Conclusion:
The seminar effectively fulfilled its objectives by stimulating curiosity, enhancing academic engagement, and laying a foundation for future innovations in applied biomechanics. Guided by the leadership of Professor Dr. Manju Adhikari, the event stood  as a model of academic excellence and practical relevance in the domain of physical education and sports sciences. all faculty of Department were present over the seminar.
