Seven Day Yoga Camp
In celebration of International Yoga Day 2025, a Seven-Day Yoga Camp was successfully conducted at the Guru Teg Bahadur Auditorium of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut. The yoga sessions took place daily from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, drawing participation from a large number of students and faculty members.
The event was jointly organized by the Maharshi Aurobindo Subharti College & Hospital of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences and the Department of Community Medicine, Subharti Medical College, under the able guidance of Prof. Dr. Rahul Bansal.
Dr. Balkrishna Shastri, a third-year MD (Naturopathy) student, conducted the yoga sessions. His training focused on the theme of “Stress-Free Living and Prevention of Lifestyle Diseases through Yoga.” The sessions included therapeutic yoga asanas aimed at enhancing physical and mental well-being.
Key asanas practiced during the camp included:
Surya Namaskar, Mandukasana, Marjariasana, Bhujangasana, Vakrasana, Ardha Matsyendrasana, Trikonasana, Kati Chakrasana, Ustrasana, and Shashankasana.
These postures are scientifically recognized for their benefits in improving flexibility, digestive health, spinal strength, hormonal regulation, and stress relief.
The camp witnessed active participation from approximately 250 students of Subharti Medical College. The program also saw the gracious presence of distinguished faculty members, including: Dr. Pawan Parashar, Dr. Rani Bansal, Dr. Surabhi Gupta, Dr. Varsha Chaudhary, Dr Anuradha Davey, Dr. Chhavi Kiran Gupta, Dr. Monika Gupta, Dr Sarvjeet Kumar, Dr. Sartaj Ahmad, Dr. Karuna Kiran, Dr. Gopi Raman, Dr. Kushagra, Dr. Pragya Agarwal, Dr. Shalu Sharma, and several others from the medical and naturopathy departments.
The Seven-Day Yoga Camp concluded on 21st June with a special session marking International Yoga Day. The successful conduct of the event reflects the university’s commitment to integrating traditional yogic practices into contemporary health education and promoting holistic wellness.
An awareness Relly program was also conducted in Urban Health Training Centre Multani Nagar Meerut under the Supervision MOIC Dr Varsha Chaudhary. Dr Usha Minhas, Dr Babita Singh , Mr.Virender Kumar were present on the occasion.
