Objective of the Special Lecture
The Special Lecture was organized with the following objectives:
To commemorate the 124th Death Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and pay tribute to his invaluable contributions to society and nation-building.
To inspire participants to adopt the values of self-confidence, discipline, character-building, leadership, and service to humanity.
To encourage youth to contribute positively towards national development by following the ideals of Swami Vivekananda.
Alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The Special Lecture was aligned with the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):SDG 4 – Quality Education: Promoting value-based, inclusive, and holistic education through the teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions: Encouraging ethical leadership, moral values, responsible citizenship, and social harmony.
SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals: Strengthening collaboration among faculty members, students, and university stakeholders to promote educational and societal development.
The Department of Education, Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized a Special Guest Lecture on the occasion of the 124th Death Anniversary of Swami Vivekanand on 4 July 2026. The programme witnessed the active participation of non-teaching staff, and all faculty members of the Department of Education, faculty of Education SVSU.Meerut. Prof. (Dr.) Pintu Mishra, Dean, Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, congratulated the Department of Education for successfully organizing the Special Lecture on the 124th Death Anniversary of Swami Vivekanand. Anoj Raj, Head, Department of Education, Faculty of Education, SVSU, Meerut introducing the distinguished expert Shri Kuldeep Narayan and highlighting the significance of the special lecture, he emphasized that the programme aimed to familiarize participants with the life, philosophy, and timeless values of Swami Vivekanand. He connected the lecture with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 – Quality Education, SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.
The keynote address was delivered by Shri Kuldeep Narayan, Sanskriti Vibhag, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut. In his simple yet highly impactful lecture, he beautifully narrated the inspiring life journey of Swami Vivekanand. He highlighted Swami Vivekanand as an extraordinary personality, a fearless patriot, a great spiritual leader, and a visionary whose teachings continue to inspire youth towards self-confidence, discipline, service, character-building, and nation-building. He further explained that the lecture fulfilled its objectives by motivating participants towards ethical leadership, character development, and responsible citizenship.
The lecture concluded & coordinated with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Reeba Devi, activity in charge Department of Education, Faculty of Education, SVSU, Meerut.whose dedicated efforts ensured the smooth and successful organization of the programme. The special lecture proved to be highly enriching and inspirational, leaving the participants motivated to imbibe the ideals of Swami Vivekanand in their personal, academic, and professional lives.
