Subharti Students explore the Science of Vision During Educational Industrial Visit to Visual Eyez India, Noida
In a major step toward bridging academia and industry, the Department of Optometry, Subharti College of Allied and Healthcare (a constituent college of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University) successfully organized a special educational industrial visit to Visual Eyez, Delhi and Visual Eyez Optix Lab., Noida on June 30, 2026.
The visit was executed under the active Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the institutions. It aimed to provide future eye care professionals with hands-on exposure to cutting-edge advancements in ophthalmic lens manufacturing and optical technology.
A cohort of 18 enthusiastic optometry students participated in the immersive learning experience. They were accompanied and mentored by Assistant Professors Mrs. Hiba Khan and Mrs. Khushi Kansal, who guided the students through the practical nuances of the industrial workflow.
During the visit, industry experts provided the students with an in-depth, step-by-step look into modern manufacturing processes for high-quality ophthalmic spectacle lenses. The students closely observed the transformation of raw materials into premium lenses, the application of precise calibration techniques for individual prescription powers, advanced lens coating technologies, and contemporary digital surfacing processes. The interactive session concluded with an engaging Q&A, allowing students to clarify technical queries directly with lab engineers.
Dr. Pankaj Kishor Mishra, Principal of Subharti College of Allied and Healthcare, shared his pride in the initiative: This industrial visit stands as a testament to our college’s unwavering commitment to experiential learning and academic excellence. By stepping out of the classroom and into a high-tech manufacturing environment like Visual Eyez, our students have gained invaluable, real-world insights that simply cannot be replicated in a textbook.
Such initiatives perfectly align with our vision of producing industry-ready healthcare professionals who are well-versed in the latest technological advancements. I commend the Department of Optometry for actively leveraging our institutional MOUs to create these impactful learning avenues, and I congratulate both the faculty mentors and students for successfully bridging the gap between academia and industry
Speaking on the milestone event, Dr. Ravindra Kumar Manik, Head of the Department of Optometry, said: Industrial exposure is an integral part of professional education. Under the mandate of our MoU, these educational visits enable students to seamlessly connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications. This interaction enhances their technical competencies and prepares them for successful, agile careers in the rapidly evolving field of optometry.
