Story & Essay Writing Competition Highlights Gender Equity
The Department of Liberal Arts & Humanities, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, organized a Story & Essay Writing Competition under the Gender Sensitization Activity on the theme “Rural Women and Gender Equity.”
The event commenced with an address note by Dr. Manoj Kumar Tripathi,Head of the Department, who emphasized the importance of education in empowering women and fostering gender equity. His insightful words inspired students to reflect on the crucial role of education in shaping a just and equal society.
Students actively participated in the competition, showcasing their creativity and thought-provoking ideas through inspiring stories and essays. The winners of the competition are: First Position to Shivani (BA 3rd Year) & Divya (BA 1st Year) – Joint Winners, Second Position to Priyanshi Bhatia (BAJMC 1st Year), Dipak (BA 1st Year), Ankit (BA 1st Year) and Third Position to Abhinav Teotia (B.Sc. Computer Science 2nd Year), Alice (BA 1st Year)
Additionally, consolation prizes were awarded to Shristi Pal (BA 1st Year), Anushka Jawla (BA 1st Year), Kainat Khan (BA 2nd Year), Gunjan Chaudhary (BA 2nd Year), Aman Yadav (BA 3rd Year), Laiba Zafar (BA 3rd Year).The event was gracefully hosted by Shivani Ahlavat and Harpreet Kaur, engaging the audience with their eloquence. Among the students who attended were Huzaifa Rizvi, Ujjawal Vihan, Ankit Kumar, Anamika, Jahnvi Kannojia, and Mayank Kumar.
Several esteemed faculty members were present, including Dr. Durvesh Kumar, Dr. Mohini Mittal, Dr. Sarita Sharma, Dr. Lovely, Mr. Kapil, and Dr. Juli. The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Amrita Chaudhary and co-coordinated by Dr. Dinesh Kumar, ensuring smooth execution and active participation. The competition served as a platform to raise awareness about gender equality while encouraging young minds to express their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities faced by rural women.
