The Department of Fashion and Textile Design, under the Faculty of Fine Arts, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, proudly participated in the prestigious Delhi Times Fashion Week, held at The Grand, New Delhi. This renowned national platform provided an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their creativity, innovation, and design sensibilities at a professional level.
A total of 60 students, accompanied by 10 faculty members, represented the department at the event. Under the leadership of Dr. Neha Singh, Head of the Department, the students presented a well-curated collection that reflected originality, strong conceptual depth, and contemporary design aesthetics. The collection received widespread appreciation from designers, industry experts, and the audience, standing out for its uniqueness among various showcased collections.
The achievement was further amplified as the students’ designs made headlines in The Times of India, bringing national-level recognition to the department and the university. This media coverage highlighted the quality, innovation, and distinctiveness of the collection, marking a significant milestone for the department.
Participation in Delhi Times Fashion Week proved to be an immensely enriching experience for the students, offering valuable exposure to runway presentation, professional execution, teamwork, and industry interaction. The faculty members also gained valuable insights into contemporary fashion trends and industry practices, thereby strengthening the academic–industry interface.
The successful participation was made possible due to the visionary leadership and constant support of the University Management. The department extends its sincere gratitude to Respected CEO Ma’am, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Sir, Hon’ble Principal Dr. Pintu Mishra Sir, PPD Assistant Director, and CTO, along with his IT support team, for their guidance, coordination, and technical assistance throughout the event.
The department also acknowledges the dedicated efforts of the faculty members who accompanied and mentored the students, namely Ms. Shradha Yadav, Ms. Anisha Anand, Dr. Surabhi Das, Dr. Rashika Kashyap, Ms. Devsuni, Ms. Abhilasha, Ms. Monika, and Mr. Raghavendra Kumar, whose commitment and teamwork played a vital role in the successful execution of the show.
