Guest Lecture on “Concept of Tantra Yoga” Organized at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University

The Department of Physical Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, successfully organized a guest lecture on “Concept of Tantra Yoga”, aimed at enhancing academic understanding of yogic philosophy and its practical relevance in physical education and holistic wellbeing.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Ankit Sharma, Assistant Professor, Swami Rama Himalayan University, Dehradun, who served as the resource person for the event. Dr. Ankit Sharma elaborated on the philosophical foundations of Tantra Yoga, its historical evolution, core principles, and its role in balancing physical, mental, and spiritual dimensions of human life. He emphasized how Tantra Yoga integrates consciousness, discipline, and energy regulation, making it relevant for modern education, wellness, and sports sciences.
The programme commenced with a formal welcome ceremony, wherein Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Education, warmly welcomed the guest by presenting a sapling and patka, symbolizing respect, sustainability, and Indian academic tradition. Dr. Sandeep Kumar also gave a brief and insightful introduction of the resource person, highlighting Dr.Ankit Sharma’s academic contributions and expertise in yogic studies.
All the faculty members of the Department of Physical Education were present during the lecture, actively participating in the academic discourse. The interactive session allowed faculty members to engage with the resource person through questions and discussions related to the application of Tantra Yoga in physical education, health promotion, and value-based education.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the valuable contribution of the guest speaker and the collective efforts of the department in organizing an intellectually enriching programme.
