Subharti Basketball League Season 1 Finale
Major Dhyanchand Physical Education Department of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University concluded the Subharti Basketball League Season 1 2024 at Major General Mohan Singh Sports Ground. This competition featured various teams like Alley Oop: Faisal Khan (UP Police), Shot Star: Narendra Rathi (International player and Indian Railways), Court King: Ayush Choudhary (International player),Swish Heroes: Priyanshu Panwar (International Player & Indian Railways), Bounce Crew: Vishal Gupta (International Player & Income Tax), Dunk Squad: Tushal Singh (International Player & Indian Railways), Flash Jumper: Rajat Thakur (Indian Army), Net Reapers : Anmol Sharma (International player). The team was represented by an international and national player as the captain of each team. The competition was organized under the direction of program coordinator Dr. Praveen Kumar and co-coordinator Shubham Rathi. Professor Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Head Faculty of Education, Department of Education, welcomed the Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor Major General Dr. G.K. Thapliyal, all the Deans of the College, all the Professors and the participants. Chief guest Major General Dr. G.K. Thapliyal encouraged the basketball players and extended good wishes. The competition was concluded by the chief guest,Major General Dr. G.K.Thapaliyal, Vice Chancellor. He congratulated Professor Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Dean Faculty of Education and Head Department of Physical Education, and his entire organizing team for successfully organizing the tournament. During the valedictory address at the function, Chief Guest Major General Dr. G.K. Thapliyal, Vice Chancellor of the University, stressed the importance of sports and motivated the students and players to participate in sports activities. He said that such tournaments are not only physical, they not only promote fitness but also develop sportsmanship and discipline. In this competition, teachers and caretakers of the Physical Education Department also made important contributions in various roles. The spectators also enjoyed the tournament a lot and encouraged the players. In the competition, Duck Squad got first place and Court King got second place. Along with this, the first winner was given ₹ 15000, winning trophy and the second winner was given ₹ 8000, runner up trophy. Apart from this, Best Defender Nikki Dhaka was given ₹ 1100, Most Promoting Player Shivam Baliyan ₹ 1100, Best Ducker Tushar Singh ₹ 1500, Best Shooter Vishal Singh ₹ 1100, and Most Valuable Player Ayush Chaudhary ₹ 1500.During the competition, Dr. Virendra Singh Meerut College, Richa Singh national basketball player, Shri Omkar Singh coach stadium, Shri Virendra Rathi sub inspector Uttar Pradesh Police, Jitu Singh international gymnastics player and Shri Harendra Singh coach basketball etc. were present. Ankit Malik, Shashank, Robin, Lakshya and Vishwadeep Tomar etc. were present as officials in this competition. Decathlon and Stubborn were the sponsors of this competition. Shakers and energy powder were provided to the players by Decathlon and kits were provided to the players by Stubborn. The main objective of the event was to promote sports culture in the university and provide a platform to the students to hone their sporting skills.
