The Khadi Mahotsav

The Khadi Mahotsav organized under the joint aegis of National Service Scheme of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (NSS) and Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Subharti Journalism and Mass Communication Department was formally concluded. During this, certificates were distributed to various participants and winners who participated in various programs.

Garima Pandey, Kumari Satya, Sakina Naqvi got first, second and third position respectively in the essay writing competition in English. On the other hand, in the elocution competition, Varsha Raj, Khyati Sharma and Nitesh Kumar Tiwari  respectively captured the first, second and third positions. Apart from this, competitions like slogan writing competition, jingle writing competition and selfie with Khadi were organised.

Speaking in the program, Chief Guest Dr. Prabhat Kumar Rai linked Khadi with our freedom fighters and said that Khadi is a symbol of our freedom and Khadi had a unique contribution in the freedom movement. The use of Khadi was universal. Even today, we need to take Khadi back to the same level in which our Prime Minister is currently playing an important role. Modi ji has a big role in bringing today’s youth towards Khadi and traditional Indian clothes. He further said that To make a self-reliant India, villages should be developed and employment should be available to the poor people. Dr. Prabhat said that today casteism is becoming an obstacle to development in the country whereas we have to look at nationalism. He said that we have to try  to fulfill the dreams of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. He urged the youths to come forward for the same.  Dr. Prabhat Kumar Rai said that common weavers benefit through Khadi. Advanced India should be egalitarian and motherly. There should be an India of revolutionaries. The British during their regime harmed khadi, which we must bring to an advanced state, Khadi and handloom should be promoted to make an advanced India. If you do not respect your belongings, there will be loss. Gandhi is an idea There is a need to take it forward.

Speaking on this occasion, Program Coordinator of ASS, Prof. (Dr.) Subhash Chandra Thaledi expressed his gratitude to all the visitors including the Chief Guest. Dr. Manoj Kumar Tripathi, Program Officer NSS introduced the chief guest Dr. Prabhat Kumar Rai to the audience present. The program was conducted by Palak Tandon, a second year student of BAJMC. During this, the guests were welcomed by Acharya Ram Prakash Tiwari, Assistant of Journalism Department. The coordinator of the program was Preeti Singh.

In the program Prof. Ashok Tyagi, Dr. Rafat Khanum, Dr. Niyati, Dr. Neha Verma, Dr. Gunjan Sharma, Madhur Sharma, Dr. Durvesh Pundir,Dr. Amrita Chaudhary, Dr. Poonam Kabir, Dr. Amit Kumar, Dr. Ankit Tiwari, Dr. Manas Kandi, Sanjay Jugran, Shikeb Majeed, Manisha Jha, Ramakant, Nitesh, Niket, Varsha, Monu, Vansh, Aastha, Bhoomi, Hundreds of volunteers including Arpit, Shakib, Harshul, Sumiyas Apoorva, Tina, Anushka, Ansh, Sakina Naqvi, Vivek Gupta were present.
