Two Day Hands On Workshop on Sewing Machines (Day 2)
Under the guidance of Mr. Vikas Bhardwaj, Sales Manager (U.P. & Uttarakhand), Usha International Ltd., along with Mr. Vansh Patel, Usha Janome Promoter, and Mr. Surya Kant, Usha Janome Promoter, students experimented with different types of stitches and embroidery patterns. They enthusiastically used a variety of sewing machines, including Usha Memory Craft 450E, Usha Allure, Usha Wonder Stitch, and Usha Magic Stitch, to develop their samples. The fully automatic embroidery machine, Usha Memory Craft 450E, remained a major attraction, allowing students to explore advanced embroidery techniques.
The hands-on training session proved to be highly engaging and fruitful, as students actively participated in stitching and fabric manipulation, gaining deeper insights into machine operations and creative applications. The practical exposure helped them enhance their technical skills and boosted their confidence in handling specialized machines.
The workshop concluded with a closing ceremony, where certificates of participation were distributed to all students. Their enthusiasm and dedication were acknowledged, and they expressed high levels of satisfaction with the learning experience. The event provided an excellent platform for students to gain practical knowledge of industrial sewing machines, preparing them for professional applications in the field of fashion and textile design.
The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Maj Gen (Dr.) G.K. Thapliyal, and the CEO of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Shalya Raj, appreciated the successful execution of the workshop and conveyed their best wishes to the participants. The workshop was successfully organized under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Pintu Mishra, Dean & Principal, Faculty of Fine Arts, with Dr. Neha Singh as the Convenor and Dr. Rashika Kashyap as the Co-Convenor.
The event was attended by faculty members from the Department of Fashion, Textile & Interior Design, including Ms. Shradha Yadav, Ms. Devsuni, Ms. Abhilasha Garg, Ms. Shailja Sindhay, and Ms. Shabnum, who actively participated and guided the students throughout the training sessions.
The workshop was a great success, providing students with valuable practical exposure to sewing machine technology, embroidery techniques, and fabric ornamentation. The students expressed their gratitude and eagerness to participate in more such hands-on training sessions in the future.
