Uttar Pradesh Diwas and National Voters’ Day

Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College organized a combined cultural and academic program on 24th January 2026 at Lecture Theatre–1 to celebrate Uttar Pradesh Diwas and National Voters’ Day. The main objective of the program was to promote cultural values, democratic awareness, and a sense of civic responsibility among students. The program commenced with Saraswati Pooja, seeking blessings for knowledge and wisdom. This was followed by a warm welcome of the Chief Guest, Dr. Umesh, from the Department of Paramedical, who was honored with a sapling as a symbol of respect and environmental consciousness. On the occasion of Uttar Pradesh Diwas, students of GNM 2nd year and GNM 3rd year presented a traditional song of Uttar Pradesh, beautifully showcasing the rich culture and folk traditions of the state. The performance created a lively and joyful atmosphere among the audience.

To mark National Voters’ Day, a debate competition was organized on the topic “Importance of Vote.” Four students participated in the debate and were divided into two groups (Group A and Group B). The participants shared their views on the importance of voting, democratic rights, and the role of citizens in a democracy. Group A, comprising Shalini and Radha (GNM 3rd year), emerged as the winners of the debate competition. Following the debate, students took the Voters’ Oath (Sapath), pledging to become responsible, aware, and ethical voters in the future. The presence and words of the chief guest greatly inspired and motivated the students. Around 40 students from GNM 2nd year and GNM 3rd year participated in the program along with faculty members. The event was conducted smoothly with active participation and cooperation from everyone involved.

Overall, the program was successfully conducted under the guidance of Dr. Geeta Parwanda, Principal, Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College. The event effectively enhanced cultural awareness and promoted democratic values among students. The combined celebration of Uttar Pradesh Diwas and National Voters’ Day was informative and meaningful, and the program concluded on a positive note with appreciation for all participants and organizers.
