Vigilance Awareness Week-2024
A workshop on the topic of “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity” was organized by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Subharti Law College ,Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut in collaboration with Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), Meerut to observe the Vigilance Awareness Week(VAW)-2024, with the aim to make the youth aware of integrity and transparency.
In this workshop, Deputy Chief Project Manager of DFCCIL, R.K. Sharma made the students aware about Vigilance Awareness Week alongwith the working of DFCCIL, he said that by promoting the spirit of integrity and transparency, we can build a better society.
The Junior Project Manager of DFCCIL Akash Kumar Verma explained vigilance awareness to the students, teachers and non-teaching staff present in the workshop. He said that under the “Public Disclosure Protection and Prevention of Corruption Act” (PDPI), complaints related to corruption of central employees can be made to the Central Vigilance Commission(CVC). He said that there is a provision to protect whistleblowers to prevent corruption in public undertakings and Government Departments. This system has been created to fight against corruption and promote vigilance awareness. Akash Verma further said that participation of citizens is very important for vigilance awareness because they can fight against corruption by using their rights.
In his welcome address Prof. (Dr.) S.C. Thaledi, HoD, Journalism and Mass communication said that the main objective of this event under the Vigilance Awareness Week(VAW) is to make the youth stand against corruption. He also thanked the officials of Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited for this workshop.
The workshop started with the lighting of lamps, after which the guests were formally welcomed by the Prof. (Dr.) S.C. Thaledi, HoD JMC by presenting them with Angavastram. This workshop was successfully conducted by Priyanshi Bhatia, a student of BAJMC first year and the vote of thanks was given by Assistant Professor of Journalism Department, Ram Prakash Tiwari.
Prof. (Dr.) Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya, Dean Law Faculty and Prof. Thaledi both presented mementoes to all the guests on behalf of the university.The Chief Project Manager of DFCCIL, R.K. Sharma also administered the oath of integrity to everyone.
During this workshop, technical coordinator Shikeb Majeed, Shaili Sharma, Dr. Sartaj Ahmed, Dr. Premchand, Gaurang Pal, Dr. Jyoti Madhur, Dr. Vishal Kumar, Sunil Dutt Sharma, Vishant Pal, Devsuni Singh, Romesh Chandra, Sachin Kumar, Dr. Rupam Jain, Engr. Anchal Sharma, Ashutosh Deshwal and Somendra Pal Singh, Sunil Kumar Sharma Neeraj Kumar, Sunil Kumar Agarwal, Vijendra Singh along with selected students from all faculties participated.
