Wellness & Stress Management for Teaching, Non-Teaching Staff & Students

 Objectives of the Workshop

To create awareness about the importance of wellness and mental health in academic institutions

To identify key stressors faced by Teaching & non-teaching staff

To promote collaboration, empathy, and mental well-being between teaching and non-teaching staff and students

Target Group: Faculty Members, Non-Teaching Staff, Students

The Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized a workshop on “Wellness & Stress Management” on 30 July 2025 for the benefit of teaching, non-teaching staff, and students of the Department of Education and Department of Physical Education. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Sharma, and CEO, Prof. (Dr.) Shalya Raj, sent their best wishes for the event and encouraged the organizing team to continue such wellness initiatives in the future.

Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Education, introduced the theme of the workshop. He emphasized that timely completion of responsibilities and avoiding unnecessary delay in tasks can help eliminate stress at the workplace. His address set a constructive tone for the session. Dr. Reeba Devi, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Wellness Committee, introduced the keynote speaker, Prof. (Dr.) Rahul Bansal, Chairman, Wellness Centre, SVSU, who had also conducted earlier workshops in the department. Prof. (Dr.) Indira Singh presented a sapling to Dr. Bansal as a gesture of gratitude and Subharti University tradition. The program began with a warm welcome and anchoring by Dr. Atul Tiwari, Coordinator, Wellness Committee, Department of Physical Education.

Dr. Rahul Bansal shared profound insights on wellness and stress management. He emphasized the importance of acknowledging the contribution of non-teaching staff in institutional success. He stated that if their roles are not respected, even the best plans may fail.A special message shared by Dr. Bansal was that one should avoid “Nishedh Karm (self-centred or ego-driven action) and practice “Nishkam Karm (selfless action), which greatly helps in reducing all types of stress. He further stressed that “Work is worship,” and every role, whether big or small, is equally important in achieving institutional goals. The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Indira Singh, Head, Department of Education. She appreciated everyone involved in the successful conduct of the workshop.
