“WOMEN EDUCATION IN INDIA: SOCIAL VALUES”
Education is a tool through which the welfare and development of an individual as well as nation can be ensured. Women are an important component of a population in any country and a number of benefits can be reaped through the education of the women population in a society. Women’s education not only improves her life on an individual basis but also has a positive impact on the lives of her family and through these agencies on the country’s development. The level of education of women is very poor in our country. The poor level of women’s education results in high levels of fertility and mortality, poor nutritional status, low earning potential, little autonomy within the household and also a negative impact on the health, well-being and education of children who are the future of any country. Therefore, the education of women in our country should be given top priority not only by the family and society but also by the Governments.
