Description:
Swami Vivekanand Subharti University’s Department of Education hosted an enlightening one-day workshop on October 12, 2023, dedicated to the profound influence of positive mental health and wellness on the formation of successful careers. The program commenced with a ceremonial inauguration where Dr. Rahul Bansal, Chairman Wellness Center, SVSU Meerut explained through interesting facts that wellness means healthy body, mind and soul and Dr. Seema Sharma, Clinical Psychologist, Department of Psychiatry, Subharti Medical College presented her views on positive mental health, which infuses new energy in career preparation and makes the goal easier.
Professor (Dr.) Sandeep Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Education, in his welcome address expressed his gratitude to the esteemed chief guests, dedicated faculty members and the audience present. The warm welcome set the stage for an intellectually stimulating and enriching program celebrating the intersection of education and mental well-being.
The workshop gained further momentum as Professor (Dr.) Anoj Raj, Head, Department of Education, took the stage to provide attendees with a comprehensive overview of the day’s program. His enlightening speech not only outlined the workshop’s objectives but also highlighted the intrinsic connection between mental health and the development of successful careers. It was underlined that, in today’s fast-paced and competitive world, the well-being of individuals plays a pivotal role in shaping the direction of their careers.
The heart of the workshop featured presentations by the keynote speakers: Dr. Rahul Bansal, Chairman of the Wellness Center, and Dr. Seema Sharma, a Senior Consultant in Clinical Psychology. The discussion on near-death experiences (NDEs) was particularly intriguing. Attendees were introduced to the phases of NDEs, their impact on individuals, and the various perspectives on what happens when a person’s mind seems to survive even when the body faces a life-threatening situation. These insights were accompanied by reference to well-known researchers in the field.
The workshop’s culmination was marked by a gracious vote of thanks presented by Professor (Dr.) Anoj Raj. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the chief guests, the enlightening speakers, dedicated faculty members, and the entire team responsible for organizing this insightful event.
