World Physiotherapy Day
World Physiotherapy Day is on 8th September every year. On the occasion of World Physiotherapy Day, Jyotirao Phule Subharti College of Physiotherapy organized different events and awareness program at Rani Lakshmi Bai Auditorium, SVSU, Meerut on 9th September 2024. This year Theme of the World Physiotherapy Day 2024 was “Low Back Pain”. The day is an opportunity for physiotherapists from all over the world to raise awareness about the crucial contribution the profession makes to keeping people well, mobile and independent.The day also coincided with the silver jubilee celebration of the college. Various events like Calisthenics for Females, Physio Innovations, Flyer Making, Reels Competition, Logo designing, Panel Discussion, Guest Lecture and Cultural Program were held to celebrate the day.
The program was started with a welcome speech delivered by the Dean & Principal of JRPSCPT Prof. (Dr.) Jasmine Anandabai. This was followed by the lamp lighting ceremony was done by Prof. (Dr.) Jasmine Anandabai, Dean & Principal, JRPSCPT, Dr. Krishnamurty, EO, DMS (CSSH), Dr. Himanshu Aeran, Pro Vice-Chancellor, SVSU, Dr. Anurag Srivastav, Director, SICMAR, Dr. Geeta Parwaanda, Principal, PDMSNC, SVSU, Prof. (Dr.) Pankaj Kishor Mishra, HOD, Dept. of Paramedical Sciences, SMC, SVSU, Dr. Umesh Kumar, Associate Professor, Dept. of Paramedical Sciences, SMC, SVSU and Dr. Shivani Lall. Dr. Shivani Lall was the Guest of Honour for the occasion, she also conducted a seminar for interns on “Assessment and Treatment of Spinal Pain”.
A speech was delivered by Dr. Krishnamurty, EO, DMS (CSSH) regarding the role and importance of Physiotherapy in today’s world and how it has impacted the healthcare industry. He also stressed up on the fact on how the college has impacted on the history of the university in the last 25 years.
This was followed by cake cutting ceremony to commemorate 25 years of existence of the institution.
A panel discussion was also held on the topic “Importance of Physiotherapy” in which HODs and representatives of several departments took part. The session was chaired by Dr. Anurag Srivastava, Director, SICMAR.
A cultural program was also held by the students which comprised of Group Dance, Group Singing and a skit which reflected up on the life of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule upon whom the college has been named after.
A valedictory ceremony was also held in which outstanding students of the college were awarded with certificates and books. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Danish Nouman.
The event was attended by all BPT & MPT students and PhD Scholars of the institution.
