Farewell 2025

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Subharti University hosted a heartwarming Farewell Day to bid adieu to the final-year students of BJMC and MJMC. The event celebrated the achievements, journeys, and shared memories of the outgoing batch with a blend of emotion, laughter, and inspiration.

The ceremony commenced with an invocation of blessings from Maa Saraswati, followed by a warm welcome address by the event coordinator, setting a respectful and joyous tone for the day.

Senior MJMC student Col. Amitabh reflected on his academic journey, saying, “I pursued my Master’s in Communication to refine my communication skills and apply them meaningfully in my professional life. Over two years, I witnessed that purpose taking shape. Remember, even when you’re under pressure, never stop smiling—bullying loses power when it doesn’t affect you.”

Adding to the sentiments, Col. Kundal shared words of encouragement: “The world is full of opportunities. You just have to be hungry enough to chase them and passionate enough to improve constantly.” He concluded with a touching poem that resonated with everyone in attendance.

BJMC seniors Shikeb Kaukab, Vishesh Sharma, Harshul Sharma, Laiba, Bharti Singh, Sumaiya, Astha, Palak, and Arpit expressed heartfelt gratitude for the experiences, memories, and lessons—both academic and personal—gained during their time at the university.

First-year student Megha shared her fond memories with the seniors, noting, “Respect isn’t demanded, it’s earned—and you all have earned it beautifully.” The ambiance turned melodic as Sakshi Pal captivated the audience with her soulful rendition of “Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar, Ke Dil Abhi Bhara Nahin.”

The event also featured energetic dance performances by the seniors, adding a vibrant touch to the farewell festivities.

Faculty members added warmth and wisdom to the occasion. Prof. Ashok Tyagi extended his blessings, while Mr. Ram Prakash Tiwari offered valuable advice. Mr. Shikeb and Mrs. Shelly conveyed their best wishes for the students’ future endeavors.

The pre-lunch session concluded with words of inspiration and blessings from the Head of Department, Prof. Dr. S.C. Thaledi, who also awarded meritorious students of Spandan— Manisha, Bhoomi, Bharti, Appurva, Sugandhi, and Teena—with cash prizes for their exceptional performance.

Post-lunch, the event moved into an interactive segment where seniors were asked, “What makes you proud to be a part of this institution?”
Their heartfelt answers showcased a deep sense of belonging and pride in their academic journey.

The event culminated with a special recognition ceremony. Based on their performances and responses, two outstanding students- Arpit Upadhyay and Bhoomi were crowned Mr. Farewell and Ms. Farewell, marking the perfect end to an emotional and celebratory day.
