The Department of Fashion and Textile Design at Nandlal Bose Subharti College of Fine Arts and Fashion Design successfully organized a 5-day Modeling Workshop on “Camera Facing and Stage Poses” from 6th April to 10th April 2026 at the Satyajit Ray Auditorium. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Kapil Gauhri, an International Fashion Show Director and renowned choreographer, known for his expertise in grooming and stage presentation.
The program was organized under the esteemed guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Pintu Mishra, Principal and Dean, NBSCFF, and was co-convened by Dr. Neha Singh, Head of the Department, Fashion and Textile Design. The event witnessed the presence of distinguished faculty members including Dr. Bhawana Grover, Dr. Ashish Mishra, Dr. Rashika, Dr. Surabhi Das, Ms. Devsuni, Mr. Lucky Tyagi, Ms. Anisha Anand, Ms. Shradha Yadav, Ms. Shailja, Ms. Monika, Ms. Neetu Teotia, and Mr. Raghuvendra, whose encouragement added value to the program.
The workshop commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati, symbolizing the beginning of a knowledge-driven and creative journey. Approximately 50 students from various colleges of Subharti University actively participated in the workshop, reflecting a strong interest in modeling and stage presentation.
On the opening day, Mr. Kapil Gauhri introduced the participants to the fundamentals of modeling, emphasizing key aspects such as stage presence, body posture, facial expressions, confidence, and audience engagement. He provided practical insights into effective camera-facing techniques and the importance of maintaining elegance and poise on stage. Students were trained in various walking styles, including ramp walk techniques, and were guided on how to carry themselves confidently while showcasing garments.
The workshop also included sessions on creating dynamic stage formations, understanding spatial awareness, and effectively utilizing stage space. Through interactive demonstrations and hands-on practice, participants gained valuable exposure to professional modeling standards. The engaging sessions encouraged students to overcome stage fear and develop self-confidence.
Overall, the inauguration of the workshop set a positive and energetic tone, paving the way for a highly enriching and transformative learning experience for all participants. The workshop proved to be a significant step towards enhancing the practical skills and professional grooming of aspiring fashion students.
