The keynote speaker for the session was Dr. Yasharth Manjul, Department of Cinema Studies, Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University (A Central University), Wardha, Maharashtra. In his engaging and thought-provoking address, Dr. Manjul highlighted how cinema serves as a powerful medium for social transformation and can effectively challenge stereotypes associated with disability. He discussed various cinematic narratives that have contributed to creating awareness about disability rights, accessibility, dignity, and inclusion. Through relevant examples from Indian and international cinema, he emphasized the importance of responsible representation and the role of filmmakers in shaping public perceptions toward persons with disabilities.
