Subharti College of Allied and Healthcare Organizes Insightful Industrial Visit to IESR, Greater Noida

Subharti College of Allied and Healthcare organizes an insightful industrial visit to IESR, Greater Noida, on April 18, 2026 – To bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world application, for its third-year Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) students. The delegation, comprising 18 students and three staff members, visited the Institute of Eminence Science and Research (IESR) in Greater Noida. Under the coordination of Prof. (Dr.) Umesh Kumar and led by Assistant Professor Ms. Urvashi Tyagi, the visit aimed to provide students with essential industrial exposure and technical proficiency in modern diagnostic and research methodologies.

During the visit, students engaged in a comprehensive exploration of cutting-edge laboratories, guided by the expertise of Dr. Amit Kumar Chaturvedi and the IESR technical team. The visit featured hands-on demonstrations of sophisticated molecular techniques, including DNA isolation, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS). These demonstrations helped students see how traditional diagnostic methods are changing to faster, automated systems that are transforming personalized medicine and pathogen detection.

Beyond technical procedures, the visit emphasized the critical importance of laboratory safety and biosafety protocols. Students observed the practical implementation of personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, sterilization techniques, and waste management within professional biosafety levels (BSL). Additionally, the session presented novel perspectives on the emerging role of nanotechnology in life sciences, specifically its applications in drug delivery systems and high-sensitivity diagnostic assays.

The program concluded with an informative career guidance session, where students were introduced to diverse professional pathways in genomics, bioinformatics, and the pharmaceutical industry. By witnessing advanced instruments and real-life research environments in action, the students of SVSU have gained a significant competitive edge and a clearer understanding of their future roles in the global healthcare and biotechnology sectors.

The Principal SCAH Prof. (Dr.) Pankaj Kishor Mishra said in the modern healthcare landscape, academic excellence must be matched by technical agility. This visit to IESR, Greater Noida, served as a vital bridge, transforming theoretical concepts from our lecture halls into tangible, real-world competencies. By placing our third-year MLT students in a high-tech research environment, we are ensuring they graduate not just with a degree, but with the industry-readiness required to lead in global diagnostic sectors.
