Summer Heatwave Relief Drive
Jyotirao Phule Subharti College of Physiotherapy (JPSCP), Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, organized a “Summer Heatwave Relief Drive” on 1st June 2026 as part of its ongoing commitment to community welfare and public health promotion. The initiative was conducted under the esteemed guidance and leadership of Prof. (Dr) Amit Kumar Goel, Officiating Principal, whose vision and encouragement played a significant role in the successful planning and execution of the programme.
The primary objective of the drive was to create awareness regarding the adverse health effects of extreme summer temperatures and to promote preventive measures for safeguarding health during heatwave conditions. With rising temperatures posing serious risks such as dehydration, heat exhaustion, heat cramps, and heat stroke, the college took proactive steps to educate the community about the importance of maintaining adequate hydration and adopting healthy summer practices.
As part of the initiative, faculty members, students, and staff of the college actively participated in the distribution of refreshing Sherbet among members of the public. The activity was organized at strategic locations to reach a large number of people who were exposed to the intense summer heat. Along with the distribution of beverages, participants interacted with the public and shared simple yet effective measures to prevent heat-related illnesses, including drinking sufficient water, avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, wearing light and comfortable clothing, and recognizing the early signs of dehydration.
The drive received an overwhelmingly positive response from the community. Members of the public appreciated the thoughtful gesture and acknowledged the importance of such initiatives during periods of extreme weather. The activity not only provided immediate relief from the scorching heat but also served as an effective platform for spreading awareness about maintaining health and well-being during the summer season.
The event reflected the institution’s strong commitment to social responsibility, community engagement, and public health advocacy. Through this meaningful outreach programme, Jyotirao Phule Subharti College of Physiotherapy reinforced its dedication to serving society beyond the classroom and promoting a culture of compassion, service, and civic responsibility among its students and staff.
The Summer Heatwave Relief Drive stands as a testament to the college’s ongoing efforts to contribute positively to community welfare and to address public health challenges through awareness, education, and service-oriented initiatives.
