Department of Physical Education Conducts Alumni Interaction Session on “Career Opportunities in Physical Education and Sports Industry”

The Department of Physical Education, Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University organized an Alumni Interaction Session on “Career Opportunities in Physical Education and Sports Industry” on 12 May 2026 at the Seminar Hall, Faculty of Education. The session was organized to guide students regarding diverse career opportunities, professional pathways, and employment prospects in the field of physical education and sports sciences.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Manju Adhikari, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Physical Education, who felicitated the distinguished alumnus and Resource Person, Dr. Awadhesh Kumar, by presenting a ceremonial shawl (Padtka) and a sapling as a token of respect and gratitude. Faculty members and students from B.P.Ed. and B.P.E.S. programmes actively attended the interaction session.

During the session, Dr. Awadhesh Kumar shared his professional journey, experiences, and insights regarding career development in the sports and physical education sector. He discussed opportunities in teaching, sports coaching, fitness industries, sports management, sports administration, research, officiating, entrepreneurship, and wellness sectors.

The resource person emphasized the importance of skill enhancement, higher education, professional certifications, communication skills, and practical experience for achieving success in the sports industry. Students were also guided regarding government job opportunities, competitive examinations, and career planning strategies in physical education.

The interaction session created an inspiring and motivating learning environment where students actively interacted with the speaker and clarified their doubts related to career growth and professional advancement. Practical examples and career guidance provided during the session greatly benefited the participants.

More than 40 students attended the programme enthusiastically and gained valuable knowledge regarding career planning and employability in sports and physical education sectors. The session successfully bridged the gap between academic learning and professional practice.

The Department of Physical Education expressed sincere gratitude to the distinguished alumnus for conducting a highly informative and motivating interaction session that contributed significantly towards students’ career awareness and professional development.
