Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of law, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut participated in 8th Smiriti Vyakhayan 2026 as one of the knowledge partner of the event held at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, Janpath, New Delhi, to attend the 8th Smriti Vyakhyan 2026. Hosted by Respect India in honour of National Poet Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh ‘Dinkar,’ the event took place on May 6, 2026, at Bhim Auditorium, starting at 5:00 PM. Our institution participated as the knowledge partner, with all faculty members and senior-batch students in attendance.
The program commenced promptly at 5:30 PM with the ceremonial lamp lighting, drawing enthusiastic participation from students, research scholars, legal professionals, and Hindi literature admirers to celebrate Dinkar ji’s literary legacy and nationalist vision.
It began with a formal welcome of dignitaries and guests, followed by an invocation and introductory remarks on Ramdhari Singh Dinkar’s life and contributions. Speakers reflected on how his poetry intertwines themes of valour, justice, social reform, and ethical governance, underscoring its profound relevance to contemporary India.
Honourable Justice Shri Surya Kant, Chief Justice of India delivered a deeply insightful address in which he beautifully connected Indian mythology, the varna system and the discrimination faced by Karna in the Mahabharata with Articles 14, 15, 16 and 17 of the Constitution of India. He emphasized how the constitutional guarantee of equality, prohibition of discrimination, equality of opportunity in public employment and abolition of untouchability collectively seek to rectify historical injustices that are often reflected in our epics and social structures.
Dr. Vikas Singh, Hon’ble President, Supreme Court Bar Association and Former Additional Solicitor General of India spoke about the early life of Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, tracing his journey from rural Bihar to becoming one of the most celebrated national poets of India. He cited several kavyas from “Rashmirathi”, explaining their meanings and demonstrating their continuing significance in contemporary times, particularly in the context of courage, ethical leadership and resistance to injustice.
Shri Manoj Tiwari, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha added a rich cultural and musical dimension to the event by rendering “Krishna Chetavani” in his soulful voice, bringing alive the moral and philosophical depth of Dinkar ji’s verse. He also presented a self-composed poem in honour of Ramdhari Singh Dinkar and the enduring power of literature in shaping human character and national consciousness.The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the esteemed speakers for their enriching deliberations and the organizers for curating an intellectually compelling and emotionally resonant tribute to Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh Dinkar.Overall, the activity fostered intellectual engagement, cultural pride and constitutional consciousness, thereby contributing to the holistic personality development of the participants and reinforcing their commitment to nation-building through law and literature.
