It is a moment of immense pride and honor for the Department of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy that four postgraduate students—Shivam Mishra, Kaishki Srivastav, Yashita Rana, and Anchal Gupta—were selected as Team Physiotherapists for the Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL). The league was conducted from 24th December 2025. Featuring12 competitive teams from across the state and showcasing high-intensity professional kabaddi matches.
The Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League is a prestigious sporting event that brings together elite athletes, sports professionals and prominent personalities from the sports and entertainment industry. One of the highlights of the league was the participation of renowned Bollywood actor Mr. Tusshar Kapoor, who is the co-owner of the team Gazab Ghaziabad, adding significant visibility and stature to the tournament. The selected postgraduate students actively contributed to on-field and off-field physiotherapy services, including injury assessment, immediate on-field management, rehabilitation planning, recovery protocols, and performance support for professional kabaddi players. Their role demanded clinical precision, quick decision-making, and the ability to work under pressure in a competitive sports environment.
In addition to the student representation, Dr. Danish Nouman, Officiating Head of the Department, Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, was invited to serve as a Senior Physiotherapist (Guest) for the league. In this role, he was responsible for guiding players on injury prevention strategies, rehabilitation protocols, and performance optimization, while also mentoring young physiotherapy professionals during the event.
The exemplary performance of our postgraduate students stood out among a large pool of skilled physiotherapists and sports medicine professionals. Their dedication, clinical competence, ethical practice, and hands-on therapeutic skills earned appreciation from team management, players, and organizing authorities. Their successful participation reflects the strong academic framework, rigorous practical training, and professional values imparted by the University.
The Department extends its sincere gratitude to the Principal sir Prof. (Dr.) Amit Kumar Goel, for his constant guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support, which played a vital role in enabling such opportunities for students and faculty alike. This achievement has brought significant recognition to the University and reinforces its commitment to excellence in physiotherapy education and sports healthcare services.
