Awareness Lecture on Cervical Cancer Prevention and HPV Vaccination Organized at SVSU
Meerut, 26 September 2026: The Department of Physical Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU), Meerut, in association with the Women Empowerment Cell, organized an awareness lecture on “Preventing Cervical Cancer: The Role of HPV Vaccination” on 26 September 2026 at the Seminar Hall ,Faculty of Education ,SVSU.
The programme was organized with the objective of creating awareness among medical students and Non- Medical Students and faculty members about cervical cancer, its prevention, early detection, and the importance of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination.
The programme was successfully conducted under the leadership and guidance of Dr. Manju Adhikari, Head, Department of Physical Education and Secretary, Women Empowerment Cell. Her effective leadership, coordination and continuous guidance contributed significantly to the smooth and successful conduct of the awareness lecture.
The session was delivered by the expert speaker Dr. Smriti Gupta, HOD, Department of Gynaecology, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University. She provided valuable information about cervical cancer, its causes and risk factors, and emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare, timely vaccination, regular screening and early detection. She also addressed important concerns related to HPV infection and vaccination and encouraged participants to promote awareness about preventive health practices.
The informative session helped participants develop a better understanding of the role of HPV vaccination in cervical cancer prevention. The programme also emphasized the importance of spreading scientifically accurate health information and encouraging timely preventive measures.
The programme was organized with the valuable guidance and support of the university administration. The Department of Physical Education and Women Empowerment Cell expressed their sincere gratitude to Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) V.K. Mittal Sir, CEO Dr. Shalya Raj Ma’am, Executive Officer Mr. Krishan Murti Sir, and Dean, Faculty of Education Prof. (Dr.) Pintu Mishra Sir for their valuable guidance, encouragement and continuous support in making the programme successful.
The organizers also expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Smriti Gupta, HOD, Department of Gynaecology, SVSU for sharing her valuable expertise and enlightening the participants on this important health issue.
