Hands-on Workshop on Microsoft Power BI Organized by the Department of Computer Application, Keral Verma Subharti College of Science, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University
Meerut, September 28, 2026: The Department of Computer Application, Keral Verma Subharti College of Science, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized a “Hands-on Workshop on Microsoft Power BI” on September 28, 2026, with the objective of developing practical knowledge among students in modern data analysis and data visualization techniques.
The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp before Goddess Saraswati. The lamp was lit by Prof. Dr. Ravindra Kumar Jain, Dean, Science College; Dr. Shashiraj Teotia, Head, Department of Computer Application; and the guest of the program, Mr. Sonu Prakash.
The primary objective of the workshop was to provide students with practical knowledge of using Microsoft Power BI for organizing and analyzing data and creating effective and interactive reports and dashboards. During the workshop, participants were given the opportunity to work with real-world data using various tools and features of Power BI.
The workshop featured practical training by Mr. Sonu Prakash, CEO, Appwars Technologies Pvt. Ltd., and technical expert Mr. Aditya Kumar. The experts introduced students to important concepts including Data Import, Data Cleaning, Data Transformation, Data Visualization, Charts, Reports, Interactive Dashboards, and Data Analysis. Students actively performed various activities on Power BI and learned how to transform data into attractive, effective, and meaningful visual reports.
On the occasion, faculty members of the department highlighted that the importance of Data Analytics and Business Intelligence is continuously increasing in the present digital era. With the growing demand for data-driven decision-making across industries, practical knowledge of these technologies is highly valuable for students. Such hands-on workshops play an important role in helping students develop technical and practical skills aligned with industry requirements.
Students of the Department of Computer Application participated enthusiastically in the workshop and actively engaged in various practical activities. The program provided them with exposure to modern techniques of data analysis and visualization using Power BI.
The program was anchored by students Simran and Komal. Faculty members of the department, including Dr. Naveen Chandra, Dr. Sonam Tomar, Dr. Ankit Kumar, Mr. Krishanpal Singh, Mr. Mukul Sharma, Mr. Sanjeev Panwar, Dr. Sandeep, Mr. Mragesh Pratap Singh, and Mr. Daksh Bhardwaj, along with other faculty members, were present during the workshop.
At the conclusion of the program, the students were encouraged and appreciated for their active participation. The department expressed its commitment to organizing similar training programs and workshops in the future to further enhance the technical, practical, and professional skills of students.
