News: Awareness Lecture on Cervical Cancer Prevention and HPV Vaccination Organized at SVSU

The Women Empowerment Committee of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU), Meerut, organized an awareness lecture on “Preventing Cervical Cancer: The Role of HPV Vaccination” on 25 September 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 Noon at the Medical Council Hall, SVSU.
The programme aimed to spread awareness among students and faculty members about cervical cancer, its prevention, HPV vaccination, and the importance of timely preventive healthcare.
The expert session was delivered by Dr. Afreen Bee, MBBS, NBEMS DGO, Senior Resident, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut. She explained important aspects of cervical cancer prevention and highlighted the role of HPV vaccination in reducing the risk of cervical cancer. The participants also gained useful information about preventive measures, health awareness, and the importance of seeking timely medical guidance.
The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. Manju Adhikari, Secretary, Women Empowerment Committee and Head, Department of Physical Education, SVSU. Dr. Rakhi Jha, Member, Women Empowerment Committee, along with Dr. Sonia Rana and Ms. Deepanshu Choudhary, actively participated in the organization and successful conduct of the programme.
The Women Empowerment Committee also expresses its sincere gratitude to Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) V. K. Mittal, Hon’ble CEO Dr. Shalya Raj, and Executive Officer Mr. Krishan Murti for their valuable guidance, support, and encouragement in successfully organizing the programme.
The lecture concluded with a vote of thanks to the expert speaker and all participants. The programme served as a meaningful initiative towards promoting women’s health awareness, preventive healthcare, and informed health practices among the university community.
