Bhikaji Cama Subharti College of Hotel Management (BCSCHM), Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized a guest lecture on “Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism” on the occasion of World Tourism Day 2026. The session focused on the growing role of digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in transforming tourism experiences, operations, and future opportunities within the sector.
The guest lecture featured Mr. Ajit Kumar Singh, Head – Operations & Development, The MARS Resort, Meerut, as the industry expert. His participation provided students with an opportunity to gain industry-oriented perspectives on the changing technological landscape of tourism and hospitality.
The session explored the relevance of digital transformation and Artificial Intelligence in reshaping contemporary tourism. Students were introduced to the ways in which emerging technologies can influence tourism planning, destination experiences, hospitality operations, customer engagement, and the development of new tourism opportunities.
The lecture also emphasized the changing expectations of the contemporary traveller and the increasing integration of digital technologies throughout the tourism journey. The interaction enabled students to connect their academic understanding of tourism and hospitality with contemporary industry developments and technological applications.
A total of 45 students and 4 faculty members participated in the guest lecture. The programme was coordinated by Mr. Rohil Bhatnagar with the support of the Hospinova Student Club, which contributed to student participation and engagement in the World Tourism Day programme.
The session provided students with an industry-oriented platform to understand how Artificial Intelligence and digital innovation can contribute to the redesign of tourism in an increasingly technology-driven environment. It also encouraged students to consider the emerging professional and entrepreneurial possibilities associated with digital tourism.
The programme concluded with an acknowledgement and appreciation of the guest speaker and the participants by Dr. Indraneel Bose, Head, BCSCHM. His acknowledgement recognized the contribution of the industry expert, faculty members, students, and organizers towards facilitating the World Tourism Day academic activity.
The guest lecture strengthened the connection between tourism education and contemporary industry practices, while highlighting the importance of technological awareness among future hospitality and tourism professionals. The programme also supported experiential learning, industry interaction, digital literacy, and awareness of emerging trends in tourism.
