The Department of Education, Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut organized an “Awareness Quiz on 150 Years of Vande Mataram” on 13th November 2025.

The objective of the quiz was to enhance students’ understanding of India’s patriotic heritage and to commemorate 150 glorious years of the iconic national song Vande Mataram, which continues to inspire unity and national pride. The Department of Education, under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Indira Singh, Head and Dean, Prof (Dr.) Sandeep Kumar expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Kumar Sharma, for his constant support and encouragement in organizing such meaningful awareness programs.

The event aimed to promote awareness about the historical, cultural, and literary significance of Vande Mataram among students. It also emphasized the spirit of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4 & SDG 16) by fostering education that upholds peace, justice, and strong institutions through civic responsibility and national awareness.

During the programme, Prof. (Dr.) Anoj Raj, Department of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut (U.P.), explained the theme of the quiz in a very effective and meaningful manner. His clear interpretation of the concept, objectives, and relevance of the theme helped students understand the core idea and encouraged them to participate with greater enthusiasm. Additionally, the activity was successfully accomplished due to the collective efforts of all participants and faculty members. Their teamwork, coordination, and dedicated involvement played an essential role in the smooth and successful execution of the event. More than 82 participants from various programs enthusiastically participated in the quiz. The quiz included 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) that tested participants’ knowledge of the history, authorship, and cultural relevance of Vande Mataram.The activity was coordinated by Dr. Reeba Devi, Assistant Professor, activity in charge Department of Education. The event reflected the department’s continuous effort to combine academic excellence with value-based and patriotic learning with coordination of all faculty members and students.

Students appreciated the initiative, describing it as informative, motivating, and inspiring. The feedback collected through a Google Form indicated that the participants strongly agreed the event helped them understand the national spirit of Vande Mataram and its relevance in today’s era.

Outcome:

The event successfully promoted a sense of patriotism, integrity, and social responsibility among students while reinforcing the importance of Vande Mataram in India’s freedom movement and contemporary education.
