CELEBRATION OF
BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF MAHATMA JYOTIRAO PHULE
The Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule on 11th April 2025, a revered social reformer and a pioneer of education for the marginalized, was celebrated with great zeal and reverence by Jyotirao Phule Subharti College of Physiotherapy at the GTB Auditorium, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut. The College of Physiotherapy is named after Jyotirao Phule and has completed 25 years of existence serving the community by providing education in the field of health care profession.
The event started with a thought-provoking lecture on “Rashtriya Bodh, Chartra Nirman” by Respected Dr. Atul Krishna Sir, Founder, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, who delivered and inspiring insight to all present to remain rooted in national values and cultural consciousness.
The auspicious lamp lighting ceremony, graced by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Maj. Gen. (Dr.) G.K. Thapliyal Sir, marked the ceremonial beginning of the cultural celebration and paying homage to the noble legacy of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule.
The celebration featured a vibrant mix of cultural expressions and community outreach activities. The event which included the lecture on Rashtra Bodh, Charitra Nirman and was followed by the cultural event by the students of Jyotirao Phule Subharti College of Physiotherapy included the following:
- The students of Jyotirao Phule Subharti College of Physiotherapy made contributions as part of the event to fulfil their social responsibility by sponsoring food packets for nursery children of Ishwar Chand Vidyasagar School, and distribution of T-shirts to children from LKG to Class 5th, to be worn by the students on their weekly physical activity day to promote discipline, fitness, and a sense of unity. The distribution of food packets and T-shirts was done by Hon’ble Founder Sir and Hon’ble Sir respectively.
- Dance performances by the talented students of Ishwar Chand Vidyasagar School added color and energy to the event.
- The students of Jyotirao Phule Subharti College of Physiotherapy expressed their artistic and patriotic spirit through a skit based on the life of Jyotiba Phule, a group dance, and a graceful Vandana performance.
- A special highlight was the distribution of the book “Rashtriya Anubhuti,” authored by Respected Dr. Atul Krishna Sir, to all faculty members and students of BPT 3rd and 4th Year. The book stands as a guiding light for young minds to embrace cultural awareness and national ethos.
- In the spirit of community service and gratitude, Khichdi and Sharbat (sweetened rose milk) was distributed to Subharti workers and students present.
The entire program beautifully reflected the essence of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule’s philosophy—education, equality, and service. The event was successfully organized under the guidance and leadership of Dean & Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Jasmine Anandabai.
