Birth Anniversary of Raja Kunwar Singh
Seminar on “Impact of Raja Kunwar Singh on Indian Nationalism” On the Occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Raja Kunwar Singh 13 November 2024
The Department of Library and Information Science, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized a seminar on the topic “Impact of Raja Kunwar Singh on Indian Nationalism” to commemorate the birth anniversary of the great freedom fighter Raja Kunwar Singh. The seminar aimed to honor his significant contributions to the 1857 freedom movement and to instill a sense of patriotism among students.
The program commenced with an inaugural ceremony led by the Head of the Department, Dr. Sudhir Tyagi, and other faculty members, who paid homage to Raja Kunwar Singh by garlanding his portrait. In his address, Dr. Tyagi highlighted that Raja Kunwar Singh was a prominent leader of the First War of Indian Independence, whose bravery and commitment played a pivotal role in shaping the freedom struggle. He also emphasized that the Department of Library Science was named in his honor, reflecting the deep respect for his patriotism and sacrifice. The students exhibited great enthusiasm and curiosity in learning about his heroic legacy.
The event featured various cultural presentations by the students, including patriotic songs, dances, and plays depicting the life and valor of Raja Kunwar Singh. These performances vividly portrayed his inspiring journey, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Sapna Sharma. Faculty members, including Dr. Sapna Sharma, Dr. Alpana, and Dr. Arti Kansal, were present, along with active participation and support from the students, which ensured the program’s success.
