Book Exhibition on Gender Equality and Human Values in Education

Department of Library and Information Science, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut successfully organized a specialized book exhibition focused on “Gender Equality and Human Values in Education” as part of a comprehensive gender sensitization activity on December 16th, 2025.

The primary objective of this initiative was to foster awareness and understanding among students and faculty members regarding critical issues of gender equality, women’s rights, and fundamental human values within the educational framework, encouraging participants to develop a comprehensive understanding of gender-related concerns and their implications in contemporary society.

The exhibition featured a carefully curated collection of academic resources, including specialized books, scholarly journals, and research articles pertaining to women’s studies, gender rights, and human values. The diverse range of materials provided participants with access to contemporary scholarship and critical perspectives on gender-related issues in educational contexts. The inaugural ceremony was conducted by Dr. Sudhir Tyagi, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, who emphasized the significance of such initiatives in fostering holistic development among students and faculty members.

The event witnessed substantial participation of Students from various departments actively engaged with the exhibited materials, along with faculty members from the Department of Library and Information Science and the entire library staff, included Dr. Javed Khan, Dr. Sapna Sharma, Dr. Alpana, Ms. Bhavna, Ms. Gomti, Ms. Rajni, Mr. Pramod Sharma, Mr. Subhash Kumar, and Mr. Devraj Singh, among others. The enthusiastic involvement of diverse stakeholders reflected the university’s commitment to promoting gender-sensitive values and inclusive educational practices.

The exhibition achieved its intended objectives with remarkable success, creating a meaningful platform for dialogue and reflection on gender equality within the educational sphere. The program effectively raised awareness about the importance of integrating gender perspectives and human values into academic discourse and institutional culture. By bringing together students, faculty, and staff around these critical issues, the initiative contributed to building a more sensitized and informed community that recognizes the importance of gender equality as a fundamental principle of educational excellence and social justice.
