Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, successfully organized an awareness session titled “Breaking the Silence: Awareness of Touch, Consent, and Personal Safety” to sensitize university girls about understanding safe and unsafe touch, consent, and personal boundaries.
The expert speaker for the session was Dr. Nisha Singh, Associate Professor, Management College, Subharti University, who delivered an insightful and thought-provoking lecture on the subject. Dr. Nisha highlighted the importance of awareness, communication, and confidence in ensuring personal safety, and encouraged students to speak up against any form of discomfort or violation. Her impressive and empathetic presentation made the session highly engaging and effective for all participantsA total of 87 university girls from different colleges of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University participated in the session, along with female faculty members from each college.
The session was graced by the Chief Guest, Professor Dr. Sandeep Kumar, who warmly welcomed the expert and motivated the students with his inspiring words. Dr. Sandeep encouraged all participants to become more aware and empowered, emphasizing the importance of safety, respect, and confidence in every woman’s life.
The event was convened by Dr. Manju Adhikari, Secretary, Women’s Empowerment Committee. Dr. Manju extended heartfelt thanks to Hon’ble CEO Dr. Shalya Raj and Vice Chancellor Professor Pramod Sharma for their constant encouragement to organize such meaningful awareness programs, and to Dr. Anshul, Chairperson, Women’s Empowerment Committee, for providing the opportunity to coordinate this impactful event.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion and expressions of gratitude, leaving participants inspired, aware, and more confident in advocating for their personal safety and consent.
