Workshop on Empowering Women Entrepreneurs for Startup Success

A workshop entitiled ‘Empowering Women Entrepreneurs for Startup success” was organized under Entrepreneurship Development Cell and by Department of Fashion and Textile Design on 29th October 2025 at Satyajit Ray Auditorium, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut. The program aimed to motivate, guide, and equip young women with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to transform their innovative ideas into successful business ventures. The event brought together aspiring women entrepreneurs and students to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the startup ecosystem. The session emphasized the significance of creativity, innovation, and sustainability in building strong entrepreneurial foundations, particularly in the fashion and textile sectors.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P.K. Sharma and Hon’ble CEO Madam Prof. (Dr.) Shalya Raj lauded the entrepreneur for her artistry and contribution for building up her own brand.

The program, led by Prof. (Dr.) Pintu Mishra (Dean & Principal, Nandlal Bose Subharti College of Fine Arts and Fashion Design) Dr. Neha Singh (HOD, Fashion & Textile Design), and Dr. Surabhi Das (EDC Coordinator, Nandlal Bose Subharti College of Fine Arts and Fashion Design).

The program began with welcoming of key note speaker Ms. Nidhi Jain, Fashion stylist and owner of Swasti Creations who highlighted the vital role of women in driving economic growth through entrepreneurship. She encouraged students to take advantage of the resources and mentorship offered by the university’s Entrepreneurship Development Cell to develop their business ideas and also shared her real-life experiences, startup journeys, and practical advice for overcoming gender-based and financial challenges. The discussions focused on business planning, brand building, marketing strategies, and the use of technology and digital platforms for business expansion.

Interactive sessions and workshops provided participants with hands-on exposure to entrepreneurial thinking and idea development. Students actively presented their innovative business concepts, demonstrating creativity and commitment toward self-reliance and sustainable development.

This event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Arpana Kamboj, Dr. Rashika Kashyap, Ms. Shradha Yadav, Ms. Anisha Anand, Ms. Devsuni, Ms. Shailja Sindhay, Ms. Monika Verma and Mr. Raghavendra Pathak. The program successfully reinforced the vision of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University to nurture talent, promote gender equality, and create future leaders who will contribute meaningfully to the nation’s socio-economic development.
