A Ganpati Idol-Making Competition was organized on the occasion of Ganpati Utsav at Nandlal Bose Subharti College of Fine Arts and Fashion Design, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut. The objective of the competition was to develop students’ interest in the rich tradition of Indian sculpture while encouraging their creativity, imagination, and artistic expression.
A total of 50 students enthusiastically participated in the competition. Using clay as their medium, the students created a variety of artistic idols of Lord Ganpati, demonstrating their creative thinking and sculptural skills. The participants beautifully blended traditional elements of Indian art with their own original ideas and imagination.
The judging of the competition was carried out by Dr. Seema Sharma. She observed and evaluated all the Ganpati idols created by the students and appreciated their creative efforts. Considering various artistic aspects, creativity, presentation, and sculptural skills, Dr. Seema Sharma selected three outstanding artworks.
Based on the final evaluation, Godson was awarded the First Prize, Ritu received the Second Prize, and Mohit Saini secured the Third Prize. The winning students were highly appreciated for their outstanding artistic work.
On this occasion, Dr. Prof. Pintu Mishra, Dr. Krishna Kumar, Dr. Siddharth Pathi, Anuj Mishra, Diwakar Bisht, and Dr. Ashish Mishra, along with other art teachers and Assistant Professors, were present. The faculty members appreciated the students’ artistic efforts and encouraged them to continue developing their creative skills.
