Midnight prayer on Buddha Purnima

A special prayer was offered to end the corona pandemic on the midnight of Buddha Purnima under the ancient & sacred Bodhi tree located at Swami Vivekananda Subharti University. Following the Corona precautions, a microprogram was organized at midnight by the Tathagata Buddha Chair of Subharti University. The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Subharti University, Brigadier Dr. V.P. Singh and Chairman of Subharti Trust Dr. Hiro Hito duly worshipped the Bodhi tree by lighting the lamp in front of the statue of Tathagata Gautam Buddha. Buddhist scholar Dr. Chandrakirti Bhante, while presenting invocation Vandana, prayed to end the pandemic in India and all over the world.

Vice-Chancellor Brigadier Dr. V.P. Singh gave good wishes on the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima. He said that on the occasion of Buddha Purnima, Tathagata Buddha Chair, established in Subharti University, has been promoting the messages of Tathagata Buddha in the society by organizing big programs since the establishment of the university. He said that this time the program has not been organized due to the corona pandemic, but on the midnight of Buddha Purnima, the ancient holy Bodhi tree located in the Subharti University campus is worshipped and prayers are offered to end the corona pandemic, while duly following Covid precautions. He said that just as the teachings of Buddha are capable of preventing genocide on the battlefield, similarly, in the present times of the Corona pandemic, it also gives the message of protection of human civilization.

Prof. (Dr.) Shayla Raj, Chief Executive Officer of Subharti University, while issuing a message, wished everyone on Buddha Purnima. She said that the teachings of Tathagata Buddha elevates human beings from darkness to light and Subharti Vishwavidyalaya is working for human welfare with determination on the path of Tathagata Gautam Buddha. She added that by imbibing the ideals of Tathagata Gautam Buddha, Subharti University is preserving the culture of India by leading the young generation of the country and the spirit of love, compassion, friendship is being encouraged all over the world including India.

Chairman of Subharti Trust Dr. Hiro Hito said that Tathagata Gautam Buddha has shown the world the path of truth for the welfare of humanity. He said that it is a matter of great pride that Subharti University, following the principle of Panchsheel of Tathagata, is presenting the teachings of Tathagata Gautam Buddha among the countrymen, summarizing “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”. He said that the day of Buddha Purnima is very holy and in the present circumstances epidemic can be avoided through spirituality by following the teachings of Tathagata Buddha.

On this occasion, Bhante Dr. Chandrakirti, Dr. Nilima Chauhan, Bhante Dr. Rakesh Anand, Dr. Harish, Dr. Ragini, Dr. Alok, Pallavi Tyagi, Rajkumar Sagar etc. were also present.

मेरठ। स्वामी विवेकानन्द सुभारती विश्वविद्यालय स्थित प्राचीन पवित्र बोधि वृक्ष के नीचे बुद्ध पूर्णिमा की मध्य रात्रि कोरोना महामारी की समाप्ति हेतु विशेष प्रार्थना की गई। सुभारती विश्वविद्यालय की तथागत बुद्धा चेयर द्वारा कोरोना सावधानी का पालन करते हुए सूक्ष्म कार्यक्रम मध्य रात्रि में आयोजित किया गया। सुभारती विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति ब्रिगेडियर डा. वी.पी. सिंह एवं सुभारती ट्रस्ट के अध्यक्ष डा. हिरो हितो ने तथागत गौतम बुद्ध की प्रतिमा के समक्ष दीप प्रज्जवलन करके विधिवत बोधिवृक्ष की पूजा की। बौद्ध विद्वान डा. चन्द्रकीर्ति भंते ने मंगलाचरण वंदना प्रस्तुत करते हुए भारत सहित विश्वभर से कोरोना महामारी के समापन की प्रार्थना कराई।

कुलपति ब्रिगेडियर डा. वी.पी. सिंह ने बुद्ध पूर्णिमा की मंगलकामनाएं दी। उन्होंने कहा कि बुद्ध पूर्णिमा के अवसर पर सुभारती विश्वविद्यालय में स्थापित तथागत बुद्धा चेयर द्वारा विश्वविद्यालय की स्थापना काल से ही बड़े बड़े कार्यक्रम आयोजित करके समाज में तथागत बुद्ध के संदेशों का प्रचार प्रसार किया जा रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि इस बार कोरोना महामारी के कारण कार्यक्रम आयोजित नही हुआ है लेकिन बुद्ध पूर्णिमा की मध्य रात्रि में सुभारती विश्वविद्यालय परिसर में स्थित प्राचीन पवित्र बोधिवृक्ष पर कोरोना सावधानियों का पालन करते हुए विधिवत पूजा करके कोरोना के समाप्त होने की प्रार्थना की गई है। उन्होंने कहा कि बुद्ध की शिक्षाएं जिस प्रकार युद्ध के मैदान में नरसंहार को रोकने में सक्षम है इसी प्रकार वर्तमान समय में कोरोना महामारी की परिस्थिति में मानव सभ्यता के संरक्षण का संदेश भी देती है।

सुभारती विश्वविद्यालय की मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी डा. शल्या राज ने संदेश जारी करते हुए सभी को बुद्ध पूर्णिमा की मंगलकामनाएं दी। उन्होंने कहा कि तथागत बुद्ध की शिक्षाएं अंधकार से प्रकाश की ओर मानव को उन्नत करती है और सुभारती विश्वविद्यालय तथागत गौतम बुद्ध के मार्ग पर संकल्पबद्ध होकर मानव कल्याण के कार्य कर रहा है। उन्होंने बताया कि तथागत गौतम बुद्ध के आदर्शो को आत्मसात कर सुभारती विश्वविद्यालय देश की युवा पीढ़ी का नेतृत्व करके भारत की संस्कृति का संरक्षण कर रहा है एवं भारत सहित विश्वभर में प्रेम, करूणा, मैत्री के भाव को प्रोत्साहित किया जा रहा है।

सुभारती ट्रस्ट के अध्यक्ष डा. हिरो हितो ने कहा कि तथागत गौतम बुद्ध ने मानवता के कल्याण हेतु संसार को सत्य का मार्ग दिखाया है। उन्होंने कहा यह बड़े गर्व की बात है कि सुभारती विश्वविद्यालय तथागत के पंचशील के सिद्धांत का अनुसरण करके ‘‘वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्‘‘ को सार करते हुए तथागत गौतम बुद्ध की शिक्षाओं को देशवासियों के मध्य रूबरू करा रहा है। उन्होंने बताया कि बुद्ध पूर्णिमा का दिन बहुत पावन है और वर्तमान परिस्थितों में तथागत बुद्ध के उपदेशों का पालन करके अध्यात्मता के माध्यम से महामारी से बचा जा सकता है।
