CME REPORT
On 5th November 2022, a Guest CME was organized by the Medical Education Unit on the topic ” Why Suffer?… Know Your Allergen” by Guest Speaker Dr. Anuja Rastogi, MBBS, DCP, FCCS, FICAAI, Member European Academy of Allergy & Clinical Immunology & Member World Allergy Organization & Second speaker is Dr. Kalpana Chauhan, Professor, Department of Microbiology, SMC, Meerut. Dr. Varsha Chaudhary, Professor, Department of Community Medicine, SMC introduced the speaker to the audience. The CME organized on the occasion of launch of Plexmat 4 (CPC diagnostics), a latest automated∙ instrument installed in Central Lab, based on immunoblot to diagnose allergy to various inhalant and food allergens, ANA and other autoimmune diseases. The main aim behind this CME was to spread awareness regarding the instrument and its scope of tests, mainly allergen detection. This CME was conducted in collaboration with CPC Diagnostics.∙ The event was a huge success and attended by 180 participants.Participation Certificate was given to all∙ the attendees. The CME commenced with a presentation on “Allergy: An overview” by Dr. Kalpana Chauhan,∙ Professor, Department of Microbiology. Her main focus was to give an overview of allergy-Type I hypersensitivity, allergens, mechanism and diagnosis and also various advantages of Plexmat 4. It was followed by a presentation by our eminent guest speaker Dr Anuja Rastogi, Allergist and∙ immunologist, Allergy and Asthma research centre, Aligarh. She explained the principle of diagnosis of allergy and the instrument and immunotherapy. Dr. Ravi Pratap Singh, AMS Lab Services, CSSH discussed Food allergen panel, Inhalant allergen∙ panel and comprehensive panel ,Turn Around Time and their cost. There was an overwhelming response from the audience .The CME was concluded by breakfast for all the attendees.
Vice Principal, SMC Dr. Satyam Khare, All Head of Department & Faculties along with JRs & Interns attended the CME.
The queries from the audience were solved by the speakers. A total number of 99 faculty members, 81 postgraduate students attended the CME.
