Constitution Day 2022

In reference to email dated 15.11.2022 circulated by Office of Registrar, SVSU Meerut to celebrate  National Constitution Day as per the UGC letter dated 15/11/22 on the theme ‘India-The Mother of  Democracy’. As per the instructions, Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law organized a Sensitization  Program for which Prof. (Dr.) Reena Bishnoi coordinated the event.

Dr. D.P. Semwal was the chief guest of the event. The event was presided over by Prof. (Dr.) G.K.  Thapliyal, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr.  Abhay M. Shankaregowda, Justice Rajesh Chandra, Director and Prof. (Dr.) Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya  Dean, Faculty of Law. Dr. Sarika Tyagi, Associate Professor was master of the ceremony. All the  dignitaries present on the dais were welcomed by the plant as tradition and commitment of Subharti towards  protection of the environment.

Thereafter all the dignitaries proceed for the lightening of Lamp and after this N. Nathanael &  Malsawmtluangi, students of BA LLB First Semester recited Preamble of Indian Constitution in both  languages Hindi and English respectively.

Dr. Reena Bishnoi delivered welcome speech to all the dignitaries of the events. She stated that our  Constitution has played a key role for empowerment of downtrodden and people in the last row.  Touching upon the basic contours of the Constitution, she highlighted that this document guarantees  Justice, Equality and Liberty besides promoting Fraternity among citizens. She also emphasized that as  Constitution of India is a supreme law of the land & under this fundamental rights and fundamental  duties are provisioned so being a responsible citizen we all have to know about this and also aware to  others. Mr. Ramesht Dhar Diwedi elaborately discussed the Fundamental Duties of Indian  Constitution in both languages Hindi and English respectively. Prof. (Dr.) Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya delivered Introductory speech and aware the audience about the significance of fundamental duties. He  spoke that Article 39 A of Indian Constitution provides the provisions related to free legal aid to the  indigent, poor and help people of the society and also told that what functions are performed by District  Legal Services Authority. Further he told to the audience about their duties which are given in Article  51A under Part-IV A of the Indian Constitution. He paid rich tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar for his  peerless contribution in the making of our Constitution which has guided the destiny of India as a great  democracy so far.

Justice Rajesh Chandra, Former Judge & Convener Dr. Ambedkar Chair, SVSU shared much  information of Constituent Assembly and its debates. He remembered the sacrifices of the freedom  fighter in the freedom struggle of India. He said that the Constitution should be followed in true spirit.

Dr. D.P. Semwal (IRS), Chief Guest, also encouraged such activities and emphasized the benefits of  such resourceful activities would give multidimensional understanding of a topic. He spoke on  the fundamental rights of the people and the right to equality. He also recalled that for the 1st time on the  directions and initiatives of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Constitution Day was celebrated on 26th November 2015 while the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, father of the Constitution, was being celebrated in 2015.

Prof. (Dr.) G.K. Thapliyal, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut,  in his presidential speech blessed and appreciated the initiative to organize such a sensitization program as  a composite effort under a multidisciplinary education system.

In this the prizes were distributed by the Hon’ble guests and dignitaries on the dais which were given to  the participants and winners of “Legal Literacy and Awareness Week-2022”.

Prof. (Dr.) Shokendra Singh,Dean ,Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kumar, Dean, Faculty  of Education, Prof.(Dr.) Shiv Mohan,Dean, Faculty of Hotel Management, Ms. Afreen Almas (Assistant Professor) Mr. Vikas Tyagi (Assistant Professor), Ms Ana Sisodiya (Assistant Professor), Mrs.  Prachi Goel (Assistant Professor Ms. Shalini Goel (Lecturer), Ms. Anjum Jahan (Lecturer), and other

colleges faculty members and students ,Non-teaching staff attended the program.  Vote of thanks to all the dignitaries was paid by Dr. Prem Chandra, Research Officer, Dr. Ambedkar  Chair, SVSU. Program was ended by the recitation of National Anthem.
