P.) and under  the guidance of Prof. (Dr) Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya, Dean, Faculty of Law, SVS University,  Meerut.

1) SHRI SARASWATI NAMAH GIRLS INTER COLLEGE, LAKHWAYA, MEERUT

A team of nine students reached to the school under the supervision of Ms. Shalini  Goel. Team of Subharti was welcomed by Smt. Shikha Sharma, Principal of Shri Saraswati  Namah Girls Inter College, Lakhwaya, Meerut. Needy people can avail the  benefits from the clinic through the email, landline number or through the WhatsApp number.

Ms. Astha Bishnoi, a student of BA.LL.B. III year started her talk with the students in a very  interactive manner and talked about the Right to Education Act, 2009 and its various provisions like  compulsory and free elementary education till the age of fourteen years. The right to education on  the basis of non-discrimination and equality is a recognised right under human rights law.  Provisions relating to gender equality in education can be found in both general and specific  international treaties, as well as treaties concluded in most regions of the world and in the  Constitution of India too.

Ms. Priya Chaudhary, a student of BA.LL.B III year, talked about the Equal Remuneration Act,  1976. She told that the objective of the Act is to provide equal wages for equal work to all the  workmen or employees without any discrimination on the ground of gender.

Ms. Ankita Raj Bharti a student of BA.LL.B III year spoke on sexual abuses at workplace and  told how they can file their complaint if they are facing such types of harassment at work place.  Ms. Anamika Sinha a student of BA.LL.B IV year started her talk in an interactive manner and  spoke on Child abuse as mentioned in Protection of Children from Sexual Offences, 2012 and  said that you have to be aware with all the provisions of this Act. Further she told you must aware  what good- touch is or bad- touch or if someone is teasing you indecent manner than you have to  complain with your parents or if the same took place in school than to your teacher. Apart from it  you can lodge your complaint on 1098.

Ms. Aditi, a student of BA.LL.B IV year, said that Gender justice refers to the equal treatment  of men and women in the process of administration of criminal justice. Most oftenly, justice is  denied to women because of the patriarchal mindset of the legislators and those delivering justice, who fail to see beyond the stereotypical roles assigned to women. Even in the twenty-first  century, things haven’t changed much for women. The prevalence of a large number of cases  related to domestic violence, sexual abuse, human trafficking, child marriage and dowry deaths is  a clear indicator that the rights and privileges guaranteed to women by the Constitution are still a  mirage to a majority of women in India. At the end of the program vote of thanks was paid by  Smt. Shikha Sharma, Principal Shri Saraswati Namah Girls Inter College, Lakhwaya, Meerut.  For the smooth functioning special efforts were made by Mr. Parag, alumnae.

The basic aim of the Consumer  Protection Act, 2019 is to save the rights of the consumers by establishing authorities for timely  and effective administration and settlement of consumers’ disputes and further he told about

Consumers have the right to information on various aspects of goods and services. This could be  information about the quantity, quality, purity, potency, price, and standard of goods or services. Further he told the rights which are protected by this Act as to protect from hazardous goods and  services, to protection against goods and services that can be dangerous to life and property to be

Ms. Priya a student of BA.LL.B. V Semester spoke on The Protection of Children from Sexual  Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. This Act is a gender neutral and recognises that boys can be  victims of sexual violence as well. It defines a child as someone under the age of 18. The Indian  Penal Code does not recognise that sexual assault can be committed on boys. This Act contains Child friendly procedures. Another hallmark of the POCSO Act was that it set up  procedures to make the criminal justice system child-friendly and prevent re-traumatisation. This  includes everything from how the statement of the child should be recorded, to the medical  examination, to designation of special child friendly courts. Under this Act, a child is entitled to  get their statement recorded at their residence or a place of their choice, and preferably by a  woman police official or an official not below the sub-inspector rank, in civilian clothes. The  police official should ensure that during the investigation, the child shouldn’t come in contact with  the accused. The child cannot be detained at the police station at night, and his/her identity should  be protected from the public and media unless directed otherwise by a Special Court. If the  survivor is a girl, the medical examination should be done by a woman doctor, and the  examination can only be done in the presence of a parent, or a person the child trusts. If neither of  the two are there, then the examination should be done in the presence of a woman nominated by  the head of the medical institution.
