The Department of Languages, under the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized an insightful awareness program on the theme “Digital Detox and Screen Time Management” on April 30, 2025. The program aimed to educate students about the importance of managing screen time and adopting digital detox strategies for enhanced mental well-being and productivity.

The program was chaired by Dr. Seema Sharma, Head, Department of Languages. In her welcome address, she remarked, “Digital media has become an inseparable part of our lives, but its unbalanced use adversely affects our mental and social health. Therefore, conscious efforts toward digital detox are essential.”

The keynote speaker, Prof. Rajeswar Pal, emphasized that digital detox is not just about reducing screen time, but about reconnecting with ourselves. He encouraged students to take mindful breaks from devices to restore emotional clarity and focus.

Dr. Ashish Kumar described screen time management as a critical need of the hour, especially for students navigating academic responsibilities alongside digital distractions. He suggested practical time-management techniques and digital wellness habits to maintain a healthy academic-social balance.

The event witnessed the gracious presence of faculty members including Dr. Rafat Khanam, Dr. Nishi Raghav, Dr. Preeti Sharma, Dr. Swati Sharma, Dr. Yashpal, Dr. Ranveer, Dr. Anuj Bawara, and Mr. Ankit, along with enthusiastic participation from all students of the department.
