“DIWALI MELA 2022”

A Diwali Mela was organized in the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Block, Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut from 20th October 2022 to 22nd October 2022. The Diwali Mela was inaugurated by the Maj. Gen. (Dr.) G.K. Thapliyal (Vice Chancellor), Prof. Dr. Shalya Raj (CEO), Dr. Abhay Shankaregowda (Pro Vice-Chancellor), and Dr. Pintu Mishra (Dean Faculty of Fine Arts).
Prof. Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Education, and Prof. Dr. Anoj Raj, Head, of the Department of Education, Faculty of Education welcomed the Chief Guests and led them for the formal inauguration of the Diwali Mela. About twelve stalls were put up by the students of the Faculty of Education. The students had made arrangements of sweets and snacks like coconut laddoos, mawa laddoos, pani puri, bhel puri, matar kulcha, idli- sambhar, dhokla, etc. A stall of tea and milkshakes was also put up. Students had also set up stalls of decorative items like earthen Diya, floating candles, and wall hangings. Several hand–made items were the attraction of the fair.

 Arrangements were also made for woolen clothes and fancy gowns as winter is approaching.

Students and guests participated with great enthusiasm in various games and also applied henna on their palms. A stall of art and craft items made by the students of the Department of Education under the guidance of Dr. Bhuvnesh Sharma, Assistant Professor, FoE was a crowd-puller of this event.

The fair had succeeded in attracting a huge crowd to the fair and people thoroughly enjoyed the delicacies and other arrangements made on this occasion.  Maj. Gen. (Dr.) G.K.Thapliyal, Vice Chancellor, SVSU, and Prof. (Dr.)Shalya Raj, the CEO, of SVSU, highly appreciated the efforts of faculty members and students of the Faculty of Education in organizing the fair. They visited various stalls and motivated the students by tasting the eatables as well as buying decorative items. They encouraged the students to organize such events to generate awareness about the rich Indian culture and heritage.

Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kumar and Prof. (Dr.) Anoj Raj also congratulated the faculty members as well as the students of the Faculty of Education on the successful organization of the event. Dr. Manju Adhikari, Associate professor, and Ms. Reshu Rani, Lecturer, FoE remained the convener of this event.
