Essay Writing Competition under Electoral Literacy Club activity
The Department of Paramedical Sciences, in collaboration with the Electoral Literacy Club, organized an engaging and insightful essay writing competition on the topic “Role of election and elector in democracy” at the Multi-Purpose Hall, 5th Floor, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. The competition, held on April 8, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., attracted a diverse pool of participants from various colleges and departments, all eager to showcase their talent and knowledge.
The event commenced with an opening address by Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Tyagi, the editor of the weekly prabhat, who emphasized the importance of promoting literacy in electoral processes to foster informed decision-making among youth.
Participants enthusiastically delved into the topic, displaying a commendable depth of understanding and critical thinking skills. The judging panel comprised esteemed faculty members Prof. Dr. AshokTyagi, the editor of the weekly Prabhat,and Dr. Niraj Dhaka, the additional registrar and nodal officer of ELC,who meticulously evaluated each submission. After much deliberation, the winners were announced amidst an atmosphere of anticipation and excitement.
VernikaDass, a B.MLT 1st year student from the Department of Paramedical Sciences, and BhawnaTyagi, a B.Sc. Nursing 1st year student from the Nursing College, achieved 1st position. Ashi, a student of B.Sc. Nursing 1st year from the Nursing College, and Prakriti, a student of B.A.LL.B. 1st year from the Law College, achieved the 2nd position. Ashok Bharti, a B.OTT 1st year student from the Department of Paramedical Sciences, and Shubhangi Singh, a B.A.LL.B. 1st year from the Law College, achieved the 3rd position.
After that, Dr. S.C. Thaledi, the chief officer of ELC, expressed gratitude to all participants for their enthusiastic participation and congratulated the winners for their outstanding contributions.
During this program, Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Tyagi, Dr. Niraj Dhaka, Dr. S.C. Thaledi, and Ms. Aditi Tyagi were present.
