As another academic year drew to a close, the Department of Physical Education, Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, organized the Farewell Party 2025 to bid an emotional adieu to the outgoing batch of 2024–25. The event, held on June 10, 2025, at the G.T.B. Auditorium, was designed to reconnect seniors and juniors, exchange heartfelt experiences, and relive cherished memories together.The guests, esteemed faculty members, alumni, and final-year students were warmly welcomed at the entrance with floral greetings and traditional roli tika, symbolizing respect and blessings. The program began on a spiritual note with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati, the embodiment of wisdom and learning. This sacred moment was graced by the presence of Maj. Gen. G.K. Thapliyal, Honourable Vice Chancellor of the University; Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Education and Head, Department of Physical Education along with all the faculty members and research scholars from the Physica Education.Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kumar delivered the welcome address, expressing his heartfelt appreciation for the students and formally introducing the Chief Guest, Maj. Gen. (Dr.) G.K. Thapliyal. In his inspiring address, the Vice Chancellor commended the department for its efforts in organizing the event and emphasized the vital role the outgoing students would play as future ambassadors and contributors to the growth of Physical Education and the university at large.
The cultural segment that followed was vibrant and full of energy. Students of the previous year presented a series of captivating dances and musical performances, transforming the atmosphere into one of joy and celebration. A highlight of the event was the much-anticipated ramp walk of the final-year students, judged by a distinguished panel consisting of Dr. Parveen Kumar, Dr. Atul Tiwari, and Mr. Kapil. Their keen observation and fair judgment led to the selection of various title winners.Faculty members from the Department of Physical Education presented sashes, trophies, and titles to recognize student achievements in various categories. These awards were a token of appreciation for the students’ dedication, spirit, and diverse talents displayed throughout their academic journey.The final-year students too contributed to the festivities with their own performances, which were joyfully joined by their juniors and faculty members, adding a personal and emotional touch to the occasion. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Manju Adhikari, Cultural Coordinator of the Department, acknowledging the efforts of the organizing team, faculty support, and student participation. The celebration was followed by refreshments and lunch, arranged by the enthusiastic organizing committee of students.
