“Yoga for Pregnant Women and Post-natal Depression”
On the occasion of the 11th International Day of Yoga, Subharti University is celebrating Yoga Sangam and Yoga Pakhwada from June 8th to June 21st, 2025, under the theme “Yoga for One Earth & One Health.”
On June 10th, the third day of the Yoga Pakhwada, a workshop on “Yoga for Pregnant Women and Post-natal Depression” was conducted at 9 AM in OBG Ward 1, Chhatrapati Shivaji Subharti Hospital. The programme was organized by Maharishi Aurobindo Subharti College and Hospital of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences in collaboration with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Subharti Medical College.
The guest speaker, Dr. Archana Anilkumar, Assistant Professor, MASCHNYS, emphasized, “Pregnancy is a transformative phase in a woman’s life, and yoga provides a gentle yet powerful tool to manage stress, improve sleep, and build physical strength. It also enhances emotional well-being, reducing the risk of depression after childbirth.” She conducted a live demonstration of safe yoga asanas tailored for different trimesters. She also discussed breathing techniques and mindfulness practices that help regulate mood and hormonal changes.Dr. Niraj Nayan Rishi, Assistant Professor, MASCHNYS, coordinated the program. 64 participants benefited from this program.
