“Yoga for Mental Health and Improving Memory”
On the occasion of 11th International Day of Yoga, Subharti University is celebrating Yoga Sangam and Yoga Pakhwada from June 8th to June 21st, 2025, under the theme “Yoga for One Earth & One Health.”
On June 9th, the second day of the Yoga Pakhwada, a workshop on “Yoga for Mental Health and Improving Memory” was conducted at 2:00 PM in the Yoga Hall, MASCHNYS, the programme was jointly organized by Subharti Medical College, Department of Psychiatry and Maharishi Aurobindo Subharti College and Hospital of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences.
The guest speaker, Dr. Seema Sharma, Clinical Psychologist and Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Subharti Medical College, role of yoga in mental well-being and memory enhancement. Concepts of health and mental health emphasize that a fit mind leads to a fit body.
She shared insightful examples related to anxiety, depression, and other mental illnesses, highlighting how regular practice of yoga and mindfulness techniques can play a pivotal role in both prevention and management of these conditions. The program was coordinated by Dr. Niraj Nayan Rishi, Assistant Professor. 150 Students of MASCHNYS benefited from this event.
