A Guest Lecture on “Social Innovation through Robotics and Artificial Intelligence” was organized on 25 August 2022 at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Swami Vivekananda Subharti University. The chief spokesperson of the lecture was Dr. Amit Kumar Pandey, Founder of Socients AI and Robotics, France, and Co-Founder of Being AI Limited. More than 138 students and teachers of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology participated in this lecture with enthusiasm.
The lecture was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of Swami Vivekananda Subharti University, Major General (Dr.) G.K. Thapliyal, Sena Medal (Retd) and Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kapil welcomed the guest by presenting a sapling.
In his welcome address, the Vice Chancellor explained the meaning of Artificial Intelligence and Natural Intelligence to the students and listened to the student’s feedback on the subject of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.
The chief Spokesperson talked about the need for robots in his lecture that where and why robots can be used in society, the need for artificial intelligence, its advantages, and its side effects was shared with the students. Some programs written by the Chief Spokesperson were shown through which the students were told how the promotion of robotics and artificial intelligence can lead to an increase in jobs.
At the end of the lecture, the Chief Spokesperson answered the questions asked by the students and pacified their curiosity.
At the end of the program, Dean (Dr.) Manoj Kapil, while addressing the students, told them that whatever branch they belong to, robotics and artificial intelligence are being used everywhere and in the coming time they will be necessary for all fields. With the same address, Dean (Dr.) Manoj Kapil thanked the chief guest and talked about organizing more such programs in the future.
The program was organized in the Madan Mohan Malviya auditorium of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology under the supervision of Dr. Shravan Kumar Garg, Head of the Department.
Dr. Archita Bhatnagar successfully anchored the program. Dr. Sanjeev Tyagi, Er. Ashima, Er. Shweta Garg, and Amardeep, working in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, played a key role in organizing the program successfully.
Objectives
The Guest Lecture was organized with the objective to:
- Understanding Robot, Hardware, Sensors, and Design Principles
- Comprehensive knowledge of next-generation AI characters, agents, and robots
- Learning concepts of advancing intuitive human-machine interaction
- Understanding the societal of Robots for the betterment of people and society
