Guest Lecture on “An Impression on Visual Merchandising”

The Department of Fashion & Textile Design, Nandlal Bose Subharti College of Fine Arts & Fashion Design, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized a Guest Lecture on “An Impression on Visual Merchandising” on 12th September 2025.
The session was conducted by Dr. C. Prakash, Director, Indian Institute of Handloom Technology, Fulia, West Bengal, a renowned academician and industry expert.

The event was organized under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Kumar Sharma, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Pintu Mishra, Dean & Principal, Faculty of Fine Arts. The entire faculty team of the Department of Fashion, Textile & Interior Design actively participated and encouraged the students. Event was anchored by Ms. Abhilasha Garg.  Faculty members Dr. Arpana Kamboj, Ms. Anisha Anand, Ms. Devsuni, Dr. Surabhi Das, Ms. Shailja Sindhay, Ms. Monika and Mr. Raghavendra Mohan Pathak actively mentored the students, providing guidance and support throughout the session. Their involvement ensured a well-coordinated event, enabling students to fully benefit from the experience.

In his lecture, Dr. Prakash highlighted the significance of Visual Merchandising as a powerful tool in fashion, textile, and interior industries. He discussed the role of creative display, store design, and presentation techniques in influencing consumer behavior and enhancing brand value.

The lecture provided valuable insights and practical knowledge, which will help students strengthen their understanding of industry practices and professional applications. The interactive session also allowed students to clarify their doubts and gain guidance directly from the expert.

The program was highly appreciated by the students and faculty members. The Head of Department, Dr. Neha Singh extended gratitude to Dr. Prakash for sharing his expertise and inspiring the budding designers.
