Guest Lecture on “Basics of Sports Biomechanics in Physical Education”

A online Guest Lecture on “Basics of Sports Biomechanics in Physical Education” was organized by the Department of Physical Education, Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut on 15th April 2026 through online mode (Google Meet) on the occasion of International Biomechanics Day, which is widely celebrated on 8th April every year.

The session aimed to create awareness about the application of biomechanics in sports performance, injury prevention, and scientific training practices among students and faculty members.

The program commenced at 2:00 PM with the joining of participants, followed by the joining of the esteemed resource person. The session formally began with a welcome address delivered by Dr. Manju Adhikari, Head & Associate Professor, Department of Physical Education. She highlighted the importance of biomechanics in modern sports science and emphasized the need for integrating scientific approaches in physical education.

This was followed by the introduction of the resource person by Ms. Deepanshu Choudhary, who elaborated on the academic and professional achievements of the speaker.

The session was delivered by Mr. Karthick K, Head Biomechanist at Not Quite Human (NQH), Trivandrum, Kerala. He is a distinguished Sports Biomechanist and Sports Scientist with expertise in human movement analysis, performance optimization, and injury rehabilitation. During his session, he provided valuable insights into the fundamentals of biomechanics, its practical applications in sports, and the role of advanced technologies such as motion capture systems, force plate analysis, and electromyography in enhancing athletic performance.

The lecture was highly informative and interactive, where participants gained a deeper understanding of movement mechanics, injury prevention strategies, and evidence-based training practices. The session also included discussions and queries from participants, making it more engaging and insightful.

More than 50 participants actively attended the session, including faculty members and students, reflecting the keen interest in the subject.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Manju Adhikari, who expressed sincere gratitude to the resource person for sharing his valuable knowledge and to all participants for their active involvement.

The session was successfully hosted by Mr. Sanjith Tk, Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education, who ensured the smooth conduct of the program.

The Guest Lecture proved to be a highly enriching academic event, contributing significantly to the knowledge and professional development of students and faculty members.
