Department of Liberal Arts and Humanities, faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, SwamiVivekanand Subharti University organized an offline Guest Lecture on “Scope of Empirical Research in Liberal Arts”on 30th June 2023.  Dr. Rafat Khanam, Associate Professor, Department of Languages, the Convenor of the guest lecture conducted the program. The objective of the guest lecture was to know and promote the empirical research in Liberal arts. The program started with the welcome address by Dean , FASS, SVSU. Dr. Manoj Kumar Tripathi, Head, Department of Liberal Arts and Humanities presented the opening remark.   Dr. Rafat Khanam presented a brief introduction of the Guest speaker Dr. Zheer Ahmed, Assistant Professor, School of Law, Presidency University, Banglore.

Dr. Zheer Ahmed initiated the lecture that Empirical research refers to a type of research methodology that relies on observation and experimentation as the primary means of data collection and analysis. Epistemologically, knowledge acquisition can be achieved through both direct and indirect observation and experience. Empirical evidence, which refers to firsthand observations or experiences, can be subjected to quantitative or qualitative analysis. By quantifying or interpreting qualitative evidence, a researcher can address empirical inquiries that must be unambiguously defined and resolvable based on the data gathered. The design of the research is subject to variation depending on the particular field of study and the specific inquiry under investigation.

Dr. Zheer Ahmed shared his deep insight and practical knowledge about research tools and research related software. He informed how AI and SPSS play a great role in data analysis. He discussed various research platforms like Google Scholar, Academia, and LinkedIn, research Gate and emphasized that every educator and researcher should make an account on these platforms. He concluded that Empirical research is based on accuracy and facts and it provides a good chance to publish the paper in a highly reputed journal.

 At the end he answered the questions of the students and faculty members. All the attendees glued with the session till the end and showed their interest to listen to the speaker in future also.

The convenor, Dr. Rafat Khanam extended gratitude to the guest speaker and presented formal Vote of thanks to the Guest Speaker for enlightening and delivering lecture on a very significant topic. She thanked all the faculty
members , students, researchers, participants for participating and making the program a great
success.  She expressed thanks to the Marcom & IT Department for
technical support and smooth conduction of the program. The program ended with pleasant note and vigour and energy of the attendees.

During the program Dr. Harish Kumar, Dr. Durvesh Kumar, Dr. Ankit Tiwari, Dr. Amit Kumar, D. Neha, Dr. Manas Kandi, Dr. Arun, Dr. ranveer, Mr. Rupendra were present.
